School Program

Shekinah offers a great variety of Outdoor Education programming possibilities for your school needs.

Nature Awareness

Simulations are a helpful way of identifying with and learning about bird and animal habits and adaptations. Shekinah also has a stuffed animal display that allows students to see otherwise elusive animals up close. Examples of a Shekinah nature awareness experience might include 'The Well Dressed Beaver', 'A Tossed Salad for a Ruffed Grouse', 'The Squirrel Pantry' or the Survival Game. Nature hikes and Sensory Awareness Trails are also excellent ways of developing an appreciation for the natural world around us.

Environmental Studies

Two valleys intersect at Shekinah creating a tremendously varied habitat for plants and animals. This allows for ample opportunity to do stream, pond and habitat studies. Shekinah has approximately 200 types of wildflowers just waiting to be discovered.

Pioneer Simulations

Grade Fours have the opportunity of experiencing Pioneer Life in Shekinah's Hermitage. Because of the specialized nature of this program arrangements must be made well in advance of the booking date.

Recreational Pursuits
