Nature Awareness
It is time to get out of our cities and towns and come experience nature!
Simulations are a helpful way of identifying with and learning about bird and animal habits and adaptations. Examples of a Shekinah nature awareness experience might include 'The Well Dressed Beaver', 'A Tossed Salad for a Ruffed Grouse', 'The Squirrel Pantry' or the ever popular Survival Game.
Shekinah also has a stuffed animal display that allows students to see otherwise elusive animals up close. Or check out the photo board of many of the different kids of flowers that grow here in the valley!
Nature hikes and Sensory Awareness Trails are also excellent ways of developing an appreciation for the natural world around us. If your group is staying overnight, simply being outside at night (when it's dark and quiet) is probably a new experience of nature in and of itself, or you could participate in a night hike.
Take only pictures and leave only footprints...come and experience nature!
