Shekinah has 287 acres of beautiful
woodlands, streams, and valleys and is located on the North
Saskatchewan River. This setting provides unique and memorable outdoor
experiences. Summer camp, group retreats and worship are a few of the
activities that take place. Shekinah is owned and operated by Mennonite
Church Saskatchewan.
Shekinah's Top Packing Tips
Don't forget bedding & towels and any food that isn't being catered. Bring curiosity, enthusiasm a first aid kit and a flashlight.
But don't bring alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, fireworks, firearms or pets. And really, you'll have a much better time if you leave your cell phone and Blackberry at home too.

Shekinah Retreat Centre is about 50 minutes
north of Saskatoon.
- Drive north on Highway 12 turning right at the Shekinah road sign approximately 6 kms past the town of Hepburn turnoff.
- Follow this grid road turning left at the
correction line and right again at the next available turn (about 1/4
kilometre).
- Continue north until you reach Shekinah.

Shekinah's Chalet
is fully winterized and is equipped with a roomy, modern kitchen which
includes a gas range, walk-in-cooler, pots and pans, mixing/serving
bowls and enough dishes and cutlery to serve 80 to 90 people. The
dining hall/meeting room seats 100 people and sleeps 50 to 60 people on
mattresses on the floor. A curtain can be pulled across the centre of
the room for privacy. The modern washrooms are equipped with showers.

The Hermitage
is a rustic, two-storey log house situated on a hilltop overlooking
Shekinah property and the North Saskatchewan River valley. For those
seeking a pioneer experience, the Hermitage has no amenities. Dishes
and utensils are provided and cooking is done on an old-fashioned
wood burning stove. Wash water must be carried outside. Rechargeable
lanterns provide light in the evenings and an airtight wood burning
stove is used for heating. Hermitage guests use nearby outdoor toilet.

Each of Shekinah's two cabins, Poplar Place and Aspen Alcove
has electricity and is equipped for year-round use. Airtight wood burning stoves provide
warmth and a cozy atmosphere. The cabins have limited kitchen
facilities and cooking is done on a two-burner electric hotplate.
Dishes and utensils are provided. Each cabin can sleep a total of 10 people (Two bedrooms off the living room/kitchen area can each accommodate 5 people in bunk beds). Water is provided in jugs. Cabin
guests have a choice of using an outdoor toilet or the bathroom
facilities located in the Chalet.

For those wanting a "tenting" experience, Shekinah has ten popular Shanty Tents.
Each sleep eight comfortably. Their simple construction, with 4 foot
walls and tarp roofs, allow the night sounds to filter through without
worrying about bugs or rain.
