The Hermitage is a rustic, two-storey log house situated on a hilltop overlooking Shekinah property and the North Saskatchewan River valley. For those seeking a pioneer experience, the Hermitage has no amenities. Dishes and utensils are provided and cooking is done on an old-fashioned wood burning stove. Wash water must be carried outside. Rechargeable lanterns provide light in the evenings and an airtight wood burning stove is used for heating. Hermitage guests use nearby outdoor toilet.
