Camp Experience

So what is a typical day at camp like?

So. Much. Fun. Seriously.

The day starts RIGHT when you get up. Even before breakfast, there are “Polar Bear” morning activities to take part in. You can participate….or sleep until the breakfast bell! Breakfast is next….so delicious. After breakfast….it’s time to work together in your tent groups to tidy up. The tent inspector comes to check and see how neat and clean your tent is….and if you do well, that might mean you get to go first at snack time later in the day!

Bible time comes next. We have these great pastors and leaders who come and teach you fantastic stuff about the Bible, about Jesus…and about all sorts of other things. We spend time singing and doing skits and activities….and learning about God! It’s great fun.

Bible time leads right into Activity #1 of the day. There are so many choices of super fun activities to participate in. Sometimes you do these activities with your tent group, and sometimes with other campers from other tent groups. You learn to try new things, to work together, to encourage each other and to have FUN. Have I mentioned that camp is super fun?!

Then comes lunch. YUM. Good food. Served here. All the camp classics, plus other delicious things to try out! After lunch is FOBBITOBOO (flat-on-bunk-in-tent-or-on –blanket-outside) and it’s time for you and your tent group to rest and relax and build up your energy for the rest of a busy day.

The next time the camp bell rings it’s off to two more activity slots. There’s more fun to be had! After the activity slots it’s time for games in the field and snack (yes more food!) and then…..supper time! We need so much energy for all of our activities and running around and making friends and having FUN!

After supper…we play some Shekinah camp games in the field…and sometimes ALL over camp! We run hard and work together in the teams we are in….there is so much fun to be had!

Snack time (AGAIN!) and then off to camp fire for singing and story time and prayer. Then we get ready for bed and sink into our sleeping bags to get ready for another fantastic, fun-filled day of camp the next day!

Sounds like fun right?! See…I told you. And I haven’t even mentioned the other crazy-fun camp things like…..theme meals, overnighters, the game of Tupperware, meeting new and old friends, laughing a lot and creating wonderful camp memories.

It’s good times. Trust me.
