Shekinah offers a variety of other games and activities that can help round out your experience.

Survival! – In this game, all participants are given the roles of different animals and play out the interactions of a model ecosystem. Students get a hands-on lesson in food chain dynamics, ecological complexity, and the influence of humans on natural ecosystems. The game works really well for groups 25-60 and takes 2.5-3 hours including rules, walking to the playing area, playing, and a debrief. A few adults get to join in and play the roles of disease, elements, conservation officer, and hunter!

Score Orienteering – This activity challenges a participant’s navigation skills on a map course. Explore the Shekinah grounds while searching for control signs. The more signs you find, the more points you earn! The opportunity offers a good chance to catch a glimpse of wildlife as you make your way around Shekinah’s trails. This activity is easily self-led and takes about an hour.

Disc Golf – Grab a disc, score card, and pencil and get out on Shekinah’s 18-hole disc golf course. The course winds its way up and down the main field with a few brief forays into and among the bushes.

Beach Volleyball – Shekinah has a sand beach volleyball court which is always a hit when the sun is shining bright.

Canoeing – Shekinah has a trusty fleet of canoes, paddles, and pfds to keep you afloat as you practice your strokes and hone your skills on our pond. For school looking for a larger adventure, the river may provide a suitable waterway, depending on water levels of course! School groups wishing to go canoeing require the Shekinah Program Director with them or a supervisor who has had formal training in canoeing or is a certified lifeguard.

Other field games – Bring your ball glove, throw a football around, have a game of soccer, ask about our famous   “Tupperware” field game.
