Shekinah is a place to experience the presence and glory of God through discovery, reflection, interaction, community, and nature. Set in the beautiful North Saskatchewan River valley, summer camp provides the opportunity for campers to disconnect (we have no cell service or wi-fi) and reconnect with God, nature and each other!

What sets Shekinah apart from many other summer camps is our small camp atmosphere. There are 8 counselors that lead groups of up to 6 kids, which means that we can learn each other’s names on the first day; nobody is a stranger!

Our cabins are rustic with no electricity, and that is because we like to spend as much time outside as possible. We make good use of our 287 acres hiking, biking, playing games, and exploring. A highlight for many campers is “overnighter,” where the girls and boys hike to separate camping spots and cook supper, eat s’mores, sing songs, and enjoy the view of the creek-fed ravine below them. Other popular camp activities include canoeing, tubing, disc golf, arts and crafts, camping skills, initiative tasks, climbing wall, and of course our zip line, the Flying Fox!

All of our counselors have graduated high school and are certified in Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C. We have a fully certified lifeguard and all staff running the climbing wall and Flying Fox are certified by the Canadian Ropes Course Company. Shekinah is an accredited camp and a member of the Saskatchewan Camping Association.

If you or your children are interested in coming to camp, check out the links above. You don’t need to be a kid to be at camp! Every year we are looking for counselors, CITs (counselors in training), and volunteers.

This just in - Matt, leader of all things camp related, has insisted on the following: the camp menu must return to the Classic, Homestyle Shekinah Summer Camp menu from days of old! Included in his demands are some of his favourite dishes: Potato Wedges, Pizza-in-a-Pan, Yellow Chicken, and Cornflake Chicken Fingers. And Berry Crunch. Especially Berry Crunch. Stay tuned to find out what other demands he may have before summer arrives.

Shekinah Children's Camps and Day Camps

Children’s camp is a great way for your child to gain some independence and self-confidence in a safe and fun environment. The focus is on making friends, trying new things, appreciating and exploring the natural world, and, of course, having fun!

Join us for the whole week, or - if you are going into Grade 1 next year - come as a day camper! Join in all the activities with the other campers, with an optional overnighter on the last night! It's perfect if this is your first experience of camp!

The cost for Children's Camp is $310/week ($290 if registered before May 1, 2018). Day Camp costs $40 per day. The optional overnighter is $20 and is payable at camp, if your child decides to join! GST not included.

Early bird discounts, third-child discounts and refer-a-friend specials may apply. See the online registration form for details. You might even take a canoe trip down the North Saskatchewan to the sand bar for some beach activities!
